In 2006, I lost a classmate to knife crime—a tragedy that changed the course of my life. Nearly 20 years on, these issues are still taking lives, and I’ve dedicated my career to changing that.

Since 2012, I’ve worked with vulnerable children and young people across London and the Southeast, in settings ranging from prisons and Pupil Referral Units to mainstream schools and care environments. My journey has taken me through boroughs such as Croydon, Brixton, Lewisham, and Brent, as well as communities in Kent and Suffolk.

I’ve supported young people facing some of life’s toughest challenges, including mental health struggles, trauma, SEND, and complex family situations. My approach is trauma-informed, shaped by lived experience, and built on trust. I know firsthand how much of a difference it makes when young people feel truly understood and supported by someone who “gets it.”

YouThrive was founded in May 2025 with a clear mission: to support children, young people, families, and frontline professionals through early intervention, safeguarding awareness, and practical workshops that make a real difference.

Since launching, we are proud to already be working in partnership with Havering Council, delivering programmes that empower communities and help protect vulnerable young people from risks such as exploitation, violence, and online harm.

Our vision is to build, blossom, and grow — expanding our reach across London and, in time, developing a national presence. By collaborating with schools, councils, youth services, and families, we aim to create lasting impact and ensure every child and young person has the chance to thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

At YouThrive, we believe prevention is powerful, and together we can shape brighter futures.

Growing up in a community affected by high crime rates, violence, county lines, and grooming risks, I developed a deep commitment to supporting vulnerable young people facing similar challenges. Combined with my passion for health, wellbeing, and helping others, this has shaped my career over the past decade, where I’ve focused on delivering trauma-informed support and care to those who need it most.

Along the way, I’ve led prison programmes in HMP Thameside, Cookham Wood, Feltham, and Wormwood Scrubs, delivering everything from football initiatives to six-week life skills, thinking, and behavioural workshops. My work has extended beyond the prison walls, supporting young people and adults as they transition through the gate and into the community.

I’ve also had the privilege of working within NHS mental health units, where I designed therapeutic interventions and supported patients in building vital life skills as they prepared to reintegrate into society.

It brings me great joy to use the skills I’ve developed to engage with people from all walks of life, helping them unlock their potential and become the best version of themselves.

I’ve always believed that prevention is better than cure, which is why YouThrive means so much to me. Delivering workshops that empower parents, frontline staff, and, most importantly, young people with the tools, confidence, and knowledge to recognise and combat grooming and contextual safeguarding is work that I’m deeply proud of.
